AIMS MEDICAL participated in the 2024 Congress of the European Society of Geriatric Medicine (EUGMS), held in Valencia, where we were awarded the Best Spanish Oral Communication. During this key event, our co-founder, Alberto Martín, presented the innovative study entitled “Assessing the prevalence and underdiagnosis of aspiration pneumonia among older hospitalized patients with community acquired pneumonia using artificial intelligence algorithms.”
This study reflects how AIMS-OD, a machine learning-based software, improves the detection and diagnosis of aspiration pneumonia in one-third of geriatric patients hospitalized for pneumonia. The results show how AIMS-OD enables the systematic, immediate and accurate identification of patients at risk for aspiration pneumonia, enabling clinical management that improves the poor health outcomes of these patients.
